A teenager badly injured in a crash in October is well enough to meet with the rescuers who had a hand in saving his life.
Zach Hanf has no recollection of seeing the men and women he shook hands with Saturday at the fire station near the Licking County location where his vehicle collided with a semi tractor-trailer.
The first responders said that Hanf was in very bad condition.
Saturday, he showed them a prosthesis he now wears on one lower limb, but he's full of energy and glad to be able to thank the people who helped him.
"What they do is awesome and I would like to give them a reason to keep going, " Hanf said.
His recovery brought smiles to the EMT's.
"Amazing. He's such a gorgeous kid. He's amazing," said one medic.
