This week's crime of the week involves the theft of nearly $25,000 in diamonds.
According to Columbus police, at about 10:15 a.m. on October 5, 2012 a man entered the Diamonds Forever jewelry store located at 5043 Tuttle Crossing Blvd., and began asking questions about some jewelry in a case toward the back of the store.
When another man and a woman entered the store at about 10:20 a.m., the first man walked away from the case, toward the front of the store, while the clerk continued to follow to assist him.
While the first man was asking questions of the clerk at the front of the store, the second man and woman began removing the jewelry that was previously being viewed and placing it in a bag.
The second man and the female then exited the store with the female telling the clerk "I'll be back," and shortly after, the first man exited without buying anything.
The suspects got away with approximately $25,000 worth of diamonds.
The first suspect is described as a black male in his late 40s, 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing about 265 pounds. He has a muscular build, a dark complexion, bald and was wearing a blue-gray pullover, blue jeans, gold framed dark sun glasses, and a blue tooth cell phone earpiece in his ear.
The second suspect is described as a white female in her late 30s, 5 feet 5 inches tall and approximately 150 pounds. She has long straight blonde hair and was wearing a blue blazer, with blue jeans while carrying a large blue shoulder bag.
The third possible suspect was the first man who entered the store. He is described as black male in his late 40s, balding, with a medium complexion. He was wearing a blue jacket, a light blue shirt, brown shoes and also had a blue tooth cell phone earpiece in his ear.
If you can provide any information on this crime by February 27, 2013, Crime Stoppers could be giving you a $2,000 reward.
