Five people were injured and four were transported to area hospitals following a crash in Hocking County Friday night.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol Athens Post is investigating a two-vehicle crash that happened just after 8:30 p.m. Friday at the intersection of U.S. 33 westbound exit ramp and Chieftain Drive in Hocking County.
According to OSHP, a 1992 Ford F-150 truck being driven by George R. Tucker, 43 of Rockbridge, failed to stop at a stop sign while traveling northbound on U.S. 33 westbound exit ramp, and struck a 2007 Subaru Legacy.
The crash sent the Subaru off the left side of the road, where it came to rest in a yard, while the Ford F-150 came to rest in the westbound lane of Chieftain Drive.
The occupants of the Subaru Legacy included the driver Randy L. Poling, 44, and passengers Lisa M. Brookes, 36, Kristin Maynard, 11, and Wendy M. Blackburn, 38, all of Logan.
Poling and Maynard received minor injuries and Maynard was transported to Hocking Valley Community Hospital.
Brooks and Blackburn both sustained incapacitating injuries and were transported to Grant Medical Center.
The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries and was transported Hocking Valley community Hospital.
The crash caused Chieftain Drive to be closed for about two hours while troopers investigated the crash.
According to OSHP, alcohol is considered a factor in this crash and there are charges pending.
