Authorities say a minivan driver was killed when the vehicle collided with a tanker truck that was stopped at a railroad crossing Thursday afternoon.
The crash occurred at the intersection of West Sullivant Avenue and Georgesville Road shortly after 2:30 p.m.
Franklin County traffic investigators said the minivan rear-ended the gasoline tanker truck, crushing the front end of the minivan.
The driver was transported to Doctor's West Hospital, and was pronounced dead. There were no other occupants in the minivan.
The tanker truck sustained no visible damage and the driver was not injured.
The contents of the tanker did not spill and there was no hazmat response.
Franklin County traffic investigators have not released the identities of those involved.
The intersection was closed while investigators completed their reports.
No other details were released, but NBC4 will update as we learn new information.
