Family Of Man Killed In Cassady Ave. Hit-Skip Crash Asking For Tips

Posted: Updated:
COLUMBUS, Ohio -

The mother of a 24-year-old man who was hit and killed while walking home from a New Year's Eve Party on Cassady Avenue is asking for someone to come forward in the case.

"We just miss him," said Jacob Zang's mother, Sheelly. Jacob was the oldest of ten, a beloved wrestling coach, and brother, who lived for doing what was right.

"[Jacob] never had problems with anyone. He was just always really good hearted," said Jordin Zang.

Jacob's mother said he was doing the right thing by choosing to walk home after attending a party.

"I feel sad because I always told him to get out and walk; and here, I feel like he was doing the right thing and this other person just kind of made a wrong decision," said Sheelly.

Jacob was struck while walking along Cassady Avenue. The driver who struck him left the scene.

Jacob's family is hoping to find the person who is responsible for his death.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says tips are starting to come in.

"We don't want revenge. We're just not like that. We just have questions we want answered. We want to know you know they were the last one's to see them alive and we just want to know what happened," said Sheelly.

Anyone with information regarding Jacob's death is asked to contact Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS. You may be eligible for a $2,000 reward.
