One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash that closed Interstate 270 north near Hamilton Road Sunday afternoon.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, the crash occurred at about 3 p.m. Sunday on northbound I-270 just south of Interstate 670.
Officials said 43-year-old Christopher D. Vance, of Bellefontaine, was driving northbound on I-270 when for unknown reasons, he drifted into the median.
Investigators said Vance's pickup truck struck the guardrail, a concrete support post, and then flipped several times, ejecting Vance from the vehicle. The vehicle came a rest on top of Vance.
Vance was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to deputies, Vance was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, but alcohol and drug use are not suspected at this time.
Franklin County Sheriff's deputies closed the roadway during the investigation. The roadway reopened shortly before 7 p.m., officials said.
