COLUMBUS, Ohio -
The body of a man was found in a Dumpster on the city's northeast side Friday afternoon.
Columbus police and medic personnel were called to the scene at about 1:51 p.m. after a body was found in a Dumpster in the area of Ponderosa and Sierra Ridge drives.
According to on-scene officials, a "Dumpster-diver" found the body.
Police said the body was that of a white male, unknown age. The body was wrapped in a sheet, and officials said there was no apparent trauma to the body.
Police said it is likely that the body was placed in the Dumpster within the last 24 hours.
Officials said the body and Dumpster were being taken to the Franklin County Coroner's Office.
Homicide detectives were called to the scene.
The cause of death was not immediately available.
