Districts Confused Over Kasich's School Funding Formula

Posted: Updated:
CENTRAL OHIO -

When Gov. John Kasich released his proposal on how school districts would be funded, many districts said it was a relief to hear that they would not see any more cuts for the next two years.

Kasich said that the new funding program would help poorer districts to be able to catch up with wealthier districts. But once the figures were released to the districts this week, that wasn't the case.

Friday on NBC4 at 5:30 p.m., Steve Wainfor talks to the Olentangy Local School District on why they think they received a 331 percent increase in funding. On the other end of the spectrum, hear from Teays Valley Local School District, which meets most of the requirements for an increase in funding, but received nothing.
