
Columbus police detectives say a woman who died following a crash on the city's south side on August 10, 2012.
Officers responded to the Brentnell Avenue, just south of Woodward Avenue, on a report of a two-vehicle crash at about 7:05 p.m.
According to the police report, Lashonda Jamar, 38, was driving a 1993 Chevrolet minivan westbound on Woodward Avenue, just east of Brentnell Avenue when she allegedly ran a red light, striking a 2011 Toyota vehicle, driven by Bryan Fitzgerald, 27, that was traveling northbound on Brentnell Avenue.
Jamar and her passenger, 46-year-old Andrea Green, were ejected from the van.
They were transported to Grant Medical Center in serious condition.
Fitzgerald was transported to the Wexner Medical Center at The Ohio State University in stable condition.
The investigation revealed Jamar ran the red traffic signal and was at-fault in the accident. No charges were filed at the time of the crash due to the incapacitating injuries she sustained in the crash.
On Friday, February 8, detectives learned that Jamar had died as a result of the injuries she sustained in the crash.
