A Hebron man was arrested Tuesday and charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection to the death of another Licking County man.
Deputies say Cody Williams, 23, of Hebron, is accused of shooting and killing 19-year-old James Ballman.
Williams has been charged with one count of involuntary manslaughter in Licking County Municipal Court.
The incident happened at about 9 p.m. Saturday in the 4500 block of Ridgely Tract Road.
Licking County Sheriff Randy Thorp issued a release over the weekend saying that Williams had told detectives that he was handling a gun and accidentally shot Ballman.
Williams also said he had been drinking before handling the gun, the sheriff said.
Williams was taken to the Licking County Jail Tuesday, according to court records.
