Columbus City Schools says Director Stephen Tankovich gave his resignation in a hand-written letter to district officials Tuesday.
Tankovich collected reports and school data for the district.
His resignation comes during the investigation regarding allegations that the district manipulated attendance data in order to receive a better score from the Ohio Department of Education.
In his letter to district officials, Tankovich stated his reasons for resigning is to center his attention to his family and because of health concerns.
Tankovich also stated that he had loyally served the district for 44 years. His resignation will be effective March 15.
