Candice Lee - NBC4: Columbus, Ohio News, Weather, and Sports (WCMH-TV)

Candice Lee

Candice Lee anchors the weekend editions of NBC4 at 6 and 11, and is a weekday reporter.

Candice joined NBC4 in March 2007 after spending more than nine years at WDEF-TV in Chattanooga, TN. Candice also spent seven years with the U.S. Navy as a Navy journalist and public relations specialist. She served as a traveling journalist with the Secretary of the Navy and worked with the White House during the 50th anniversary of World War II.

In 2000, Candice covered the Presidential election when Al Gore lost. Candice said that was one of the most memorable stories she has covered. While trying to interview the Rev. Jesse Jackson, Candice conducted the interview on her knees because there were so many reporters at the interview in Nashville. Candice said she was a lowly market 86 reporter, but refused to be shut out by network big shots, so she dropped to her knees and crawled between legs and stuck the microphone right in his face.

Candice graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts in communications/journalism. She is working on a second Bachelor's degree -- in history.

If she wasn't working in the television industry, Candice said she would be a teacher.

Candice, a Washington, D.C., native, was the top graduate of the basic broadcaster's course in the Defense Information School. She lives in New Albany with her son and enjoys decorating and crocheting.
