Liz Adeola - NBC4: Columbus, Ohio News, Weather, and Sports (WCMH-TV)

Liz Adeola

Liz Adeola is a digital journalist for NBC4.

Prior to joining the NBC4 team, Adeola served as a weekend anchor and reporter for WAND-TV in Decatur, Ill.

multi-media reporter and fill-in anchor at KOSA in Odessa, Texas and a producer at KRNV in Reno, NV.

Adeola graduated from Arizona State University Walter Cronkite School of Journalism with a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in politics.

She was chosen as the Illinois AP Best Newswriter in 2011 and she was named as one of the Top 20 Under 40 in Central Illinois.

Adeola says the most memorable story she covered was when she interviewed the wife of one of the flight attendants who was killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Her courage and strength to go on and raise her children resonated with her. She also remembers covering a story where an infant was brutally murdered by his mother's boyfriend in Texas. She never showed up during the trial to fight for justice for her son. Adeola says she felt the weight of being the voice for the child who never had anyone in his corner to protect him.

Adeola is a member of the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Central Ohio, a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Pinky Promise, and NABJ.

If she weren't working in television, Adeola said she would be a music supervisor for television shows or movies, saying she finds it fascinating how music can make or break certain scenes and help tell the story.

Adeola's first job was as a bridge caddy for a tournament in her hometown of Mesa, AZ.

Adeola currently lives in Dublin.
