Whitehall Police bust large marijuana grow operation in basement of home

Whitehall police busted a large marijuana growing operation discovered in the basement of a home.

Detectives made the discovery while executing a search warrant stemming from an investigation into trafficking in drugs at a home in the 8100 block of Willow Brook Crossing.

Once inside, detectives found more than 150 mature marijuana plants growing in the basement of the home. They also found various packaging materials, sprayers, gallon bags, lamps, bulbs, fans and other equipment commonly utilized in marijuana growing operations.

Police say they also recovered 30 pounds of marijuana that was already prepared for sale, $3000 in cash, and 19 grams of psilocybin mushrooms.

Spencer Yingling, 32, was arrested at the residence and charged with possession of marijuana.

In response to the bust, Deputy Chief Dan Kelso stated, “Whitehall Police will remain vigilant to stop illicit drug trafficking that is affecting our community.”
