Victims identified in Coshocton County plane crash

COSHOCTON, OH (WCMH) -- Two people killed after a small plane crashed in Coshocton County Monday morning have been identified.

The Zanesville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said pilot Edward Zezlina, 67, and passenger Linda O-Brien, 71, died after their plane crashed about five miles west of Blissfied.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, a Beechcraft Bonanza was traveling from Elyria, Ohio to Deland Florida when it crashed.

The owner of the property where the crash happened says his wife heard an engine noise followed by a thud around 6:30am. It wasn't until a couple hours later when he found the wreckage.

“When I got over there, there was just a small bit of smoke coming up and it was clear that the cockpit was incinerated," said the property owner, who asked not to be identified.

Local law enforcement had been notified earlier that the plane dropped off radar. They were already nearby when the property owner called for help.

The FAA, National Transportation Safety Board and the highway patrol are investigating the crash.
