COLUMBUS, OH (WCMH) - Meet Max: He is a Brittany Spaniel-Beagle mix on a mission to find rescue dogs, like himself, a loving forever home.
NBC4 Today Weekend Anchor Hattie Hawks and her husband adopted Max from a small Central Ohio rescue called Pets Without Parents. Every week, Max and Hattie introduce viewers to other rescue dogs in search of forever homes.
This week, Hattie and Max stopped by a Speak for the Unspoken foster home to meet Snow, a one-year-old bulldog-boxer mix.
Snow came to Speak for the Unspoken in October after she was pulled from a rural shelter and she is now ready for her forever home. Snow is deaf, but she doesn’t let her disability hold her back.
“Honestly, everybody including me is surprised she hasn’t been adopted yet,” said her foster mom Rikki Kunz.
Snow knows sign language and is a happy-go-lucky dog who loves to cuddle. It might be best for her forever family to not have babies in the house, but she does well with kids.
“We have a 3-year-old and a 7-year-old and she is great with them,” Kunz said. “She is great with the cats and good with other dogs. She is essentially a dream and I hope we can find her a good home.”
Snow would do best with an active family.
“She is excited. We call it child bowling in the house when she comes pummeling through and they just topple over,” Kunz said. “My kids understand because we have dogs in a home, [but another home] where maybe they don’t have dogs yet, the kids wouldn’t understand and that would upset them.”
