COLUMBUS (WCMH) -- - A Columbus City Schools principal has been charged with soliciting after he agreed to pay for sex acts from an undercover detective, according to court documents.
Leon Leavell, a principal at Arts Impact Middle School, was arraigned on charges of soliciting. He was arrested on March 24 after he offered to pay $40 for sex acts with a detective.
A Columbus City School spokesman said Leavell has been reassigned, and he will have no contact with any school children.
Leavell had previously applied to be the next superintendent for Columbus City Schools.
