Police searching for man who said he had a bomb during bank robbery in south Columbus

COLUMBUS, OH (WCMH) - Columbus Police are searching for a man who robbed a bank in south Columbus.

It happened around 9:45am Saturday morning at the PNC Bank on the 3700 block of South High Street. According to the Columbus Division of Police, the suspect entered the bank and stood at the front of the counter. When the teller called the suspect to the window to begin a transaction, the suspect handed him a note that stated the suspect had a bomb and demanded cash from the drawer.

The teller complied with the suspect’s demands and the suspect grabbed the cash and the note and fled the scene. Police say an explosive device was not seen by any employee in the bank at the time of the robbery.
