COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A multiple-vehicle crash closed a portion of Interstate 270 on the city's north side on Saturday.
The crash occurred on Interstate 270 eastbound between State Route 315 and Route 23 near Worthington, NBC 4 reported.
According to police officers at the scene, the crash involved three vehicles. Two vehicles, a 2005 Dodge Caravan and 2002 Honda Civic were involved in an initial accident eastbound Interstate 270. While they were waiting for police to arrive, an eastbound 1998 Ford F-150 struck the rear of the Honda Civic pushing it into the rear of the Caravan. Three people were transported to local hospitals while two children were transported to Nationwide Children's Hospital. One child is still in critical condition. Both children were said to be in child safety seats.
I-270 east was closed between state Route 315 and Route 23, reopening at about 1:30 pm. The Delaware Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol still has the crash under investigation.
