COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Columbus police say no criminal charges will be filed against a state Attorney General's aide accused of sexual harassment by a co-worker.
Director of General Services Anthony Gutierrez is accused of sexually harassing two female employees, one of whom requested a criminal investigation be started, NBC 4 reported.
Police interviewed 26-year-old Cindy Stankoski last week. Stankoski is one of the employees making the allegations against Gutierrez.
According to a press release, after the interview, officials determined that there is no evidence that criminal acts took place and no criminal charges will be filed.
Stankoski's attorney Mark Collins said Stankoski is not disappointed that charges weren't filed.
"We respect the decision made by Columbus Police Department. In a case with less notoriety, the investigation may have yielded a different outcome," Collins said.
Stankoski and the other employee, Vanessa Stout, met again with investigators on Tuesday for a follow-up interview.
The allegations from Stankoski focus on the night of Sept. 10 and the events she claims took place at the Dublin townhome shared by Attorney General Marc Dann and two of his employees.
Stankoski said she was pressured by her supervisor, Gutierrez, to go out for drinks.
Later that evening, Stankoski said, Dann persuaded her by phone to come to the townhome he shared with Gutierrez and Communications Director Leo Jennings.
Jennings was suspended from his position last week for unknown reasons, but related to the sexual harassment investigation. Gutierrez was also placed on paid administrative leave in early April.
Stankoski said she fell asleep and woke up with her pants unbuttoned and Gutierrez lying next to her in his underwear.
She said he later admitted that he unbuttoned her pants and told her that he had wanted to have sex with her.
