"We don't have to turn to our history books for heroes. They're all around us. Don't let anyone tell that America's best days are behind her that the American spirit has been vanquished. We've seen it triumph too often in our lives to stop believing in it now."
--Ronald Reagan

"True heroism is remarkably sober, very undramatic. It is not the urge to surpass all others at whatever cost, but the urge to serve others, at whatever cost."
--Arthur Ashe

From random acts of kindness to life-changing moments, everyday heroes are all around us and impact us daily. NBC 4 wants to share stories of these everyday heroes throughout the year because Good News Matters!

We will accept your nominations of everyday heroes anytime. Whether it’s a friend, neighbor, co-worker or relative who is an Everyday Hero, send us their stories. We will highlight their stories once a month or more in our 4 p.m. newscast – First at 4.

All of the Everyday Heroes nominated will be showcased on nbc4i.com.

Next spring, we will invite you to vote on the top four everyday heroes from all those that we’ve highlighted on First at 4.

Those four Everyday Heroes will be in next year's Red, White & Boom! and will receive a donation to their favorite charity.
