OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES
1. No purchase is necessary.
2. You must be at least eighteen (18) years old and a legal resident of Ohio in one of the following counties: Athens, Champaign, Clark, Coshocton, Crawford, Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Guernsey, Hardin, Highland, Hocking, Knox, Licking, Logan, Madison, Marion, Morrow, Muskingum, Perry, Pickaway, Pike, Richland, Ross, Scioto and Union counties at the time of entry to win.
3. This Contest is subject to all federal, state and local laws. Void where prohibited by law. By entering, participants agree to these Official Rules.

5. Only one (1) nomination per household.
6. Contest begins on March 31, 2008, and ends on May 4, 2008. Final entry deadline is May 4, 2008 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
7. The geographic scope of this promotion is the state of Ohio in one of the following counties: Athens, Champaign, Clark, Coshocton, Crawford, Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Guernsey, Hardin, Highland, Hocking, Knox, Licking, Logan, Madison, Marion, Morrow, Muskingum, Noble, Perry, Pickaway, Pike, Richland, Ross, Scioto and Union counties. The Sponsors of this Contest are WCMH-TV and Media General Operations, Inc.
8. The odds of winning from the entries received depend upon the panel ofjudges’ decision based upon the criteria as set forth in these Official Rules.
9. Description of prizes: Four (4) Prize Winners will each receive:
a. A $500 donation made on the winner’s behalf to one (1) of their 501(c)(3) charity of choice. The charity must be a registered 501(c)(3) organization as of April 15, 2008. WCMH-TV will make the donation on behalf of the winner after validating that they are a 501(c)(3). Charity choice is subject to NBC4 approval, which may be withheld in NBC4’s absolute discretion. Winner will receive a notification letter from WCMH-TV when the donation is made.
The total retail value of each prize is$500.
11. Prizes are not transferable, substitutable, or exchangeable for cash except that WCMH-TV in its discretion may substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Any such changes will be announced. Alternate winners are subject to all eligibility requirements and restrictions of these Official Rules.
13. All participants (including nominators and nominees) must be at least eighteen (18) years old and a legal resident of Ohio in one of the following counties: Athens, Champaign, Clark, Coshocton, Crawford, Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Guernsey, Hardin, Highland, Hocking, Knox, Licking, Logan, Madison, Marion, Morrow, Muskingum, Noble, Perry, Pickaway, Pike, Richland, Ross, Scioto and Union counties at the time of entry.
14. Employees of WCMH-TV and Media General Operations, Inc., and of the affiliates, subsidiaries, distributors, suppliers, franchisees, promoters, and agents of any of these, and the immediate families (defined as spouse, parents, siblings or children) of the employees of any of these, are not eligible to enter, to be nominated as a potential winner or to win.
15. Go to www.nbc4i.com, keyword “Every Day Heroes” and follow the links to nominate someone and Email entry information to everydayheroes@wcmh.com providing the following information: 1) Name, 2) Address, 3) Telephone Number, 4) Age and 5) Email address for both the nominator and the nominee. Nominator must also include a descriptive essay in 500 words or less about the nominee, which meets the following criteria: i) state how this ordinary individual’s actions were extraordinary and outstanding; ii) state how the individual’s actions were heroic; and iii) state how the nominee benefited or positively affected the lives of others. To be eligible for the Grand Prize, entries must be received by May 4, 2008 no later than 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The nominees of those participants who fail to provide all required information will not be eligible to win and neither those nominees nor their nominators will be notified by WCMH-TV.
16. Four (4) prize winners will be selected from the nominations received, by a panel of judges which may include WCMH Staff based upon the specific criteria stated above on or about May 9, 2008. WCMH-TV reserves the right to exclude entrants for any reason, in WCMH-TV’s sole editorial discretion.
17. WCMH-TV will contact potential prize winners in accordance with the information nominator supplied to WCMH-TV via an email to everydayheroes.com. Winners may be verified over the telephone at the time and will be asked to provide a mutually agreeable day, time, and location for WCMH-TV crew to videotape them for the television segment. Winner must provide valid identification and execute an affidavit of eligibility. Identification includes a valid driver’s license or other valid picture ID showing name and address. Faxes will not be accepted. The winner may also be required to sign other legal documents, including tax forms and a release supplied by WCMH-TV, which, among other disclaimers, releases WCMH-TV, Media General Operations, Inc., and a range of subsidiaries, directors, agents, agencies, affiliates, franchisees, promoters, officers, directors, employees and related persons from any and all liability related to this Contest and the receipt and use of the prize. Winners may be featured on nbc4i.com and included in “Everyday Hero” segments on NBC4 within the Red, White & Boom! TV program scheduled to be broadcast on Thursday, July 3, 2008 from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The information contained on the entry form becomes the property of WCMH-TV and will not be returned or acknowledged. If WCMH-TV is unable to speak directly to a winner within five (5) days from initial attempted notification, WCMH-TV in its sole discretion may disqualify that winner and select an alternate winner. Alternate winners are subject to all eligibility requirements of these rules.
18. WCMH-TV, Media General Operations, Inc., their affiliates, subsidiaries or agencies will not be responsible for the inability to select winners because of postal failure, equipment failure, or data storage failure.
19. All federal, state and local laws apply. Sponsors shall be entitled to interpret these rules as needed — including but not limited to rules regarding entries, selection of winner, deadlines, restrictions on prizes, and eligibility — and all of their decisions are final. By entering, participants agree to these Official Rules. WCMH-TV reserves the right to cancel, terminate or suspend this Contest or any part of this Contest should any non-authorized intervention, network failure, information storage failure, telecommunications failure, malfunction,or other causes beyond its control, corrupt or impair the security, administration, fairness and/or operation of this Contest as determined by WCMH-TV in its sole discretion. WCMH-TV and Media General Operations, Inc. are not responsible for lost, interrupted, or unavailable network, server, or other connections, or for any failed telephone or computer hardware or software, or for any failed, delayed, misdirected, corrupted, or garbled transmissions or errors of any kind, whether human, mechanical, or electronic, or for entries that for any reason are not received by WCMH-TV by the deadline stated above. WCMH-TV and Media General Operations, Inc. are also not responsible for any injury or damage to any computer, modem or other electrical device as a result of participation in this Contest or downloading of any software or materials. WCMH-TV reserves the right to correct typographical or clerical errors in any Contest-related materials. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded. In the event that production, technical, seeding, programming or any other reasons cause more than the stated number of prizes as set forth in these Official Rules to be available and/or claimed, WCMH-TV reserves the right to award only the stated number of prizes by a random drawing among all legitimate, un-awarded, eligible prize claims.

22. By winning, contestants agree to award Sponsors the right to publicize their names, photographs (including the use and appearance of winner's photograph on Sponsors’ web pages), likenesses, biographical information, e-mail address, voices and details of winning for purposes of this and future promotions without further compensation.
23. Any person attempting to defraud or tamper with this Contest in any way will be ineligible for prizes and may be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
