Cold, snow, sleet, rain! We had it all today yet none of it kept Central Ohio from responding to the NBC 4 Firefighters 4 Kids Toy Drive.
Here are the record breaking highlights:
More than 1,400 cars. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., there were cars lined up Olentangy River Road to state Route 315, creating a bit of a traffic snarl
2 ½ semis filled with thousands of toys from bikes to electric cars and more
More than $74,500 in cash, checks, gift cards and credit card donations.

The Columbus Division of Fire pulled out all the stops this year -- even expanding our toy collection to take donations for the Mid-Ohio Food Bank, which is facing a critical shortage this season. NBC 4 started asking viewers to bring food just three days ago and they responded in an amazing way.
Central Ohio donated food that filled four trucks, which are equal to 1½ semi trucks. Plus, more than $12,000 was collected in cash and checks.
