Mikaela Hunt

Mikaela Hunt joined NBC 4 as a general assignment reporter in early August.

Prior to joining the NBC 4 team, Hunt served as a reporter and 5 p.m. anchor at WAND-TV in Decatur, Illinois. She also reported at KOMU-TV in Columbia, Missouri, and worked as the Fraternity Graduate Consultant for Pi Beta Phi.

Mikaela graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. She was awarded the Investigative Reporting award by the Associated Press, and several of her enterprised stories served as the blueprint for legislation. Mikaela was named as the Herald & Review Favorite TV Personality in 2004, 2005 and 2006; and was honored as Employee of the Year for WAND-TV in 2006.

Mikaela said she has been active in the United Way, Children's Museum of Illinois and enjoys reading to the elderly at nursing homes.

Hunt said the most memorable story she covered was a piece on trick or treating and sex offenders.

If she weren't working in television, Mikaela said she would be a corporate trainer or personal shopper.

Mikaela's first job was as a counter clerk at a lumberyard and hardware store.

Mikaela lives in Hilliard with her husband of two years, Marcus, and their Miniature Daschund, Bentley.
