Ana Jackson

Columbus-native Ana Jackson returns to Central Ohio after graduating from the University of Georgia, where she graduated with a degree in broadcast news and a minor in political science.

She was recognized nationally for several achievements, including winning the Fox News college challenge -- a national competition for college students. She was awarded a scholarship and traveled to New York to appear on the "Dayside" show. Ana also placed in the 2005-06 Hearst Broadcast Feature competition.

If you think Ana looks familiar, there's good reason. She was a reporter and news anchor for Kids News Network on WBNS-TV back when she was in the seventh grade.

Jackson's most memorable story she covered was involving the amnesty for illegal immigrants. "We interviewed everyone, from day laborers, immigrant advocates, to a minuteman and a U.S. congressman. I had to skip a lot of classes to be able to finish the project."

Ana also covered President George W. Bush's first State of the Union address at Statuary Hall in the U.S. Capitol. "It was really neat to be surrounded by reporters from all the major networks," she said.

Jackson, who also taught violin lessons in college, said that she played the instrument in weddings when she was in high school. She said she would love to be in movie production and direction if she weren't in the television news business. She also said it would be fun to be a wedding planner.
