Man Stumbles To Neighbor’s After Fight, Shooting

COLUMBUS, Ohio—A man stumbled to a neighbor’s house for help after he was shot.

NBC 4’s Tom Brockman reported with the FAST FACTS Tuesday.

According to police, the incident started at Ann and Mike’s Main Street Tavern, on the corner of South Napoleon Avenue and East Main Street on the city’s East Side.

CPD said an argument between two men escalated to a physical confrontation. The altercation moved to the tavern’s Northside parking lot where 31-year-old Andrew L. Jackson was shot several times. That was about 2:40 a.m. Tuesday.

Jackson staggered northbound on Napoleon Avenue where he knocked on a house’s door. That resident was one of many who called 911.

Officials said the victim was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the chest.

A suspect has not been apprehended, and CPD detectives continued to investigate.

I agree with you sc, That bar is a hole in the wall and when I bartended there for one the tips werent all that bad but I got tired of all the strippers from next door coming in half naked getting a shot of something and leaving, not to mention a lot of fights as well. Never once did the female owner there stand up for her employees either, her husband did and I am sure still does. As long as she was getting her money she didnt care what went on. As for the man, he did care. I think the state should shut it down or at least someone call in on them about the the smoking ban they do not adhere too.

Imagine that! Another shooting on the East side or Far East side of Columbus. When is Mayor Coleman going to protect the honest citizens of this city and get his people in line?

Maybe the city needs to do what our state does if they have problems like this they need to shut it down,and in some cases they will bulldoze it down i have seen the police department do this to houses that people sell drugs out of.But it has to be a on going problem.

I am surprised that place is even still open, I used to bartend there years ago and there was always alot of trouble. Its one of those hole in the walls that just needs to shut down. Its not really the owners that made it that way its just certain people.
